How to Purchase

Thank you for your interest in buying an Oregon Wind product. The following information will walk you though first steps and explain some considerations.

First, are you interested in buying a beta product this year (2009) or a market product the following year (2010)? In order to decide, please consider the following:

Beta products will be offered for sale at only one time for a set price. They will be sold directly by Oregon Wind. They will be sold without specific guarantees about performance or durability. As a beta purchaser, you must agree to allow us to install a wireless data logger on your unit(s) and to provide reasonable assistance to get a connection working whereby the turbine sends information back to the Oregon Wind site (and that information will be available to the public). We expect to make the beta purchase announcement for both turbines and streetlights in Fall 2009. If you are interested and are not already on our mailing list, please be sure to sign up here.

Market products will be offered for sale beginning sometime in late 2010. We expect the wholesale price of beta units to be substantially lower than the beta sale price (due to mass manufacturing and the resulting economies of scale); however, at this time we cannot be specific about when the market turbines will be available or how much they will cost. They will likely be sold through renewable energy retailers and contractors who can support the customer in siting, installation and maintenance as needed.
